Last week I started to teach Myrtle how to needle felt. She was a neighbour of ours and I've known her my whole life. She used to do my Moms hair...for possibly 40 years! Myrtles got dementia and she needed something to do with her hands...she used to make EVERYTHING....she was a carpenter, a home renovator, she did all sorts of arts and crafts....as well as having her hair salon in her basement. I can't count how many times I was in that basement...I think she had red and black linoleum floor tiles? I can't remember now...but I know there was red in there somewhere! I loved sitting under one of her drier chairs. Watching as the ladies were rolled and set and dyed and cut and blown out...
So anyway....last week we started needle felting and THIS is what she made!
Cute!!! She did a fabulous job!
So today I went to see her again....and we made PENGUINS!
She totally rocked those penguins!!
I'm not sure what we'll do next week...but I am SO looking forward to it!
