Free motion sewing with Judi Miller

Wow...It seems I only ever even LOOK at my blog about once a year!!  It's tough when there's soooo much going and this is not one of the things I think about a lot.  It's funny how we creators just love to make stuff but have such a hard time telling everyone else about this stuff.

I won't make any promises but I'll try to be a little more focused on telling you what I'm up to.

So!  I took an amazing workshop with Judi Miller

 https://judimiller.ca/

Alllll about free motion sewing....My new favourite thing!!

This is my first real attempt at free motion sewing and I'm hooked.  Lots to learn still!

My goodness this year is just a speeding by!  I've been busy do pet portraits, teaching, doing sewing alterations and upholstery.  Never a dull moment and I love it!

I spent a lovely day creating a felted vase and have since needle felted some flowers on it

this is one of my classes.  Aren't they amazing???  Bet you can't tell which one is mine!
My latest pet portrait, Monty:)
these are my roommates/fur babies.  Oscar and Nellie.  I'm doing mini portraits to be made into fridge magnets
I'll try not to take as long to post next time!!!

Needle Felting workshop at La Fab sur Mill

Yesterday, I taught a needle felted landscape workshop to 14 amazing students...everyone was awesome!!

Everyone did a spectacular job and the focus was intense!  Silence reigned....all except the sounds of needles being embedded into fibre and foam:)

My New furbabies

I'm so excited to welcome these lovely cats into my home.  I was definitely in the right place at the right time!  I lost my sweet girl Millsy a couple months ago and the house was just too empty so I reached out to a wonderful Cat Rescue named

As I was about to adopt two adorable kittens, Lesa called and asked if I would be interested in these 2 MAINE COONS!  I capitalize that because I LOOOOVE Maine Coons!  My boy Cheddar was half Maine Coon.  So loveable.  I asked her how she knew I loved Maine Coons and she said "I see you're an artist and they're Art!"
It was a no-brainer!

This is Oscar
This is Noelle

Aren't they the most gorgeous cats???  I'm truly lucky🤗😽

Sunday, August 14, 2022

Wow!  Almost 2 years since I posted here!  It's crazy how time flies!  Lots and lots has happened to me (plus that Pandemic!). I had a hip replacment, cleared and beautified my childhood home (Mom lived there for 60 years) and sold it.  Moved to beautiful Almonte Ontario.  Oh and started teaching 1st year animation at Max the Mutt Animation School in Toronto!  That last was completely due to Covid...I was approached to teach online mid-year and happily jumped right in.

So busy is the operative word!

After 6 months of gradual failing, my Mom passed away in her 100th year on earth.  It was gut wrenching.

So!  Back to wanting to create again!  I was quite happy to not be part of craft shows by the time Covid took care of all things public (all that lugging!) but now I've got that itch again.

I'm mostly concentrating on fibre related shows and my next show is coming up fast!  FibreFest in Almonte is resuming in-person on the weekend of Sept 10 and 11, 2022.  Come on down and see, touch, smell, and generally enjoy this back-to-normal.  Here are a few of the things I'm having fun with.....

This house is Clean!

Thank you so much for those of you have purchased my kits in the recent couple weeks.  I so appreciate it as all my craft shows have been cancelled.  In these uncertain times, I would like to let you know that everything I sell was purchased or created before the Co-vid pandemic began.  I wash my hands whenever I come in to my house and wash them before touching anything that will go into the mailing of each item I ship. I am VERY cautious as my 97 year old Mum lives with me.   Please be aware that the cardboard box it comes in will have been handled by a bunch of people.  I would suggest you take everything out of the box and discard the box.

Needle felting is a great way to keep busy and vent those frustrations!

We WILL get through this!

Wendo Fründe bag workshop

I'm excited to announce I have a new workshop available.  It's pretty special!
my

WENDO FRÜNDE BAG

Fründe means Friend and I'm changing up my workshops to include these lovely statement felted bags.  My sheep work particularly well on this black felted background of a bag.  This bag is perfect for those farmers market shopping trips, or storing your knitting in.  The handles are long enough to fit comfortably hanging from your shoulder.  My first Fründe workshop will be at Stréve Gallery and Design studio in Perth on Mar 15, 2020.  If you're still hankering to do a Magic Woods workshop, I'll be teaching that one at Stréve on Mar 14, 2020.  Take care on this eve of another snow storm!
